Discover Islam
Ramadan & Eid
The month of fasting and the celebrations that follow.
Ramadan
For one lunar month each year, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset — no food or drink — to build discipline, gratitude, and closeness to God. Families gather to break the fast at sunset (iftar).
Eid al-Fitr
The joyful celebration that ends Ramadan: morning prayers, new clothes, gifts for kids, and feasting with family and community.
Eid al-Adha
The “festival of sacrifice,” during the pilgrimage season, remembering Abraham’s devotion. Meat is shared with family, neighbors, and those in need.
